SMS consent & opt-in

Operated by Yiriba LLC · getreviewkit.com

ReviewKit is a tool used by local service businesses (dentists, HVAC companies, salons, auto shops, clinics, contractors, and similar) to send their own customers a single text message asking for a Google review after a completed purchase or service. This page documents exactly how those customers consent to receive that message, so the opt-in flow can be verified.

How consent is collected

Consent is collected by each business directly from its own customer at the point of sale or service. The customer provides their mobile number and agrees to receive a one-time review-request text in one of these ways:

  • On a paper or digital intake / check-in form that includes a consent line.
  • During the business’s booking or checkout process.
  • Verbally, when the customer gives their number at the counter.

Phone numbers are never purchased, rented, or sourced from third-party lists, and consent is never a condition of purchase.

Sample consent language used at the point of service

Businesses present customers with language equivalent to the following before collecting a number:

“May we text you a quick link to leave us a Google review? You’ll receive one message about your visit from [Business Name]. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Consent is not required to purchase.”

What the customer sees when they opt in

ReviewKit provides participating businesses with a standard digital check-in / intake form, and matching counter signage for in-person verbal opt-in. This is the exact consent experience presented to the end customer. The SMS consent checkbox is unchecked by default and optional: the customer can check in and receive service without checking it. Consent is never pre-selected, forced, or bundled with payment, and is never a condition of purchase.

Check in

For in-person, verbal opt-in, staff read the same disclosure from counter signage before taking a number:

At the counter

“May we text you a quick link to leave us a Google review? You’ll receive one message about your visit. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Consent is not required to purchase.”

The in-app consent step (every send is gated by this)

Before any message can be sent, the business owner must enter the customer in ReviewKit and check a consent box attesting the customer agreed to be texted. The box is unchecked by default and the “Add customer” button is disabled until it is checked. This is the exact control shown in the ReviewKit dashboard:

Add a customer

Name (optional)
Phone, e.g. (555) 123-4567

Privacy Policy: getreviewkit.com/privacy · Terms: getreviewkit.com/terms

Add customer (disabled until the box is checked)

Bulk imports require the same attestation: a single checkbox confirming every customer in the list agreed to be texted, again unchecked by default and required before importing.

What the customer receives

Each message greets the customer by name, identifies the business, includes the review link, and includes opt-out instructions. Sample messages:

  • “Hi John, thanks for choosing Summit View Dental! We’d love your feedback, please leave us a quick Google review: https://getreviewkit.com/r/demo Reply STOP to opt out.”
  • “Hello Maria, thank you for visiting Glow Salon & Spa! Would you mind sharing your experience in a quick Google review? https://getreviewkit.com/r/demo Reply STOP to unsubscribe, HELP for help.”
